Mr. Amar Variawa is the Vice President and Country Head of Vestas India. He is instrumental in making comeback for Vestas in India through a series of interventions including commitments to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. This includes two “Make in India” Projects – state-of-the-arts manufacturing unit in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, the biggest R&D centre of Vestas in world in Chenai and world-class training centre in Tamil Nadu.

Under the leadership of Amar, Vestas India won the largest Wind Turbine Manufacturer award through Hon’ble Minister of New & Renewable Energy Shri Pralhad Joshi in 2024. Vestas also won “An Outstanding Contribution to the Nation as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) covering the entire value chain of wind energy projects” through Hon’ble Minister of Power by Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP), in 2019.
