Sh. Abhay Kumar, Executive Director is currently working as Head of Engineering (Substations, TL, Civil & Cost). at Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.. Sh. Abhay Kumar is an Electrical Engg. Graduate from BIT, Sindri and Joined POWERGRID as Engineer- Trainee in 1994. Since then, he has been working with POWERGRID in various areas of Power transmission system at various locations in India including international consultancy assignment at Dubai.  He has been associated with concept to commissioning of EHV Transmission projects covering Cost estimation, design, engineering, testing, commissioning and asset maintenance. His area of expertise includes FACTS (SVC, STATCOM, FSC, TCSC), SynCon, Protection & Automation, AIS/GIS Substation, Transmission line and Offshore Substation engineering.

Sh. Abhay Kumar is Chairman of Cigre India National Study Committee - A3 on Transmission & distribution equipment, Member - Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) technical council-C and Head – MOP, Govt. Of India Task force on "One Sun One World One Grid". He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Member of IEEE Power & Energy Society.
