At Invest India, Mr. Anup Bhargava leads the Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Metals & Mining, Capital Goods, Leather & Footwear, Textiles, and Tourism sectors.

Mr. Anup Bhargava brings two decades of leadership experience across major manufacturing, engineering, construction and management consulting, utilities (Generation, Distribution & Coal mining). His career spans high-impact executive roles in both the private and public sectors, with a footprint covering domestic markets in India as well as international geographies, including extensive tenures based in Singapore managing the Indo-Pacific region.

Prior to his current role, he was Chief Strategy Officer at ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited, Executive Director at Jindal Steel & Power, and President for CESC (Utilities and Distribution Licensee). His global profile includes serving as Asia Commercial Director for GE Power & Water (General Electric), Chief Marketing Office for Jurong Engineering Limited (IHI), Project Manager for Westinghouse Electric. Additionally, he was the CEO for South Asia region for Germany-headquartered Dornier Group GmbH, a management consulting firm. He began his professional journey in the public sector with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in 1987.

He is an expert in strategic corporate management, decarbonisation, renewable energy, and EPC. Throughout his career, he has developed deep capabilities in project control, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement with a sharp focus on global energy dynamics.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with Honours, from Aligarh Muslim University (1987 batch). Internationally, he has served as President and Fellow of the Instrumentation & Control Society of Singapore. In India, he has been board member of Bengal Chambers of Commerce & Industry, founding board member Flag Foundation of India, represented India in AAGC negotiations in Tokyo & Jakarta from CII, and currently in governing council for Power Gen, Bharat Electricity and India Energy Week.

He is an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
